Lighting Installation
Resources
Access installation guides, wiring diagrams, mounting references and commissioning resources for Topsund architectural lighting systems. From 48V magnetic track installation and power wiring to smart-control integration, these resources support project preparation, installation and commissioning.

Wall-mounted reference covering track cutting, M592 fixing, M567 straight joints, SD-572 / M568 corner installation and SD-20048 positioning.
TRIAC Dimming Installation & Wiring Manual
Polarity-sensitive DC48V installation reference covering power-feed wiring, luminaire orientation and checks before power-on.
DALI-2 Product-Side Wiring
Four-conductor track reference separating the 48V DC power circuit from the DALI control bus for compatible DALI-2 configurations.
Commissioning References
Project references for addressing, grouping, dimming, scene testing and supported integration routes after physical installation is complete.
USE THE CORRECT SYSTEM VERSION
Installation instructions are configuration-specific. Do not apply polarity, wiring or control instructions from one M20 version to another unless the selected track, luminaire, driver and control architecture have been confirmed.
POWER & WIRING
Power Supply and Wiring References
Use the wiring reference that matches the selected luminaire and control configuration. Confirm the 48V power path, conductor function, polarity requirements and control wiring before connection or power-up.
01
48V Power Architecture
Plan the complete power path from AC input to the 48V power supply, power feed, magnetic track and luminaires. Calculate the connected load, PSU capacity and feed positions before installation.
02
TRIAC Dimming Wiring
For the centralized TRIAC configuration, brown DM+ connects to 48V+ and blue DM− connects to 48V−. The luminaires are polarity-sensitive and must be installed in the same orientation. Check polarity before power-on.
03
DALI-2 Wiring
For compatible DALI-2 M20 configurations, keep the 48V DC power circuit separate from the DALI control bus. The four-conductor track carries two conductors for 48V DC power and two conductors for the DA/DA control pair.
SYSTEM-SPECIFIC WIRING
Use the Wiring Diagram for the Selected M20 Configuration
Do not apply a TRIAC polarity diagram to a DALI-2 or other driver configuration. Confirm the selected track, luminaire, driver, power supply and control architecture before wiring.
CONTROL & COMMISSIONING
Commissioning References for Smart Lighting Projects
This section is for projects where the physical installation is complete and the selected control route is ready for commissioning. Follow the sequence and integration reference that matches the actual driver, gateway and control architecture.
COMMISSIONING SEQUENCE
01 — Confirm the Project Architecture
Verify the selected luminaire driver, control platform, gateway or interface, track conductors and power architecture before commissioning starts.
02 — Energise and Check Wiring
Confirm the 48V supply and control wiring are connected to the correct conductors. Test the installation before device discovery or addressing.
03 — Discover and Address Devices
Identify the connected drivers or control devices using the selected commissioning platform, then assign addresses or device identities where required.
04 — Configure Groups, Scenes & Controls
Set lighting groups, dimming behaviour, scenes, wall controls and Tunable White parameters where supported by the selected system.
05 — Complete Functional Validation
Test on/off, dimming, scene recall, grouping, physical controls, power recovery and other required project functions before handover.
COMMISSIONING & INTEGRATION REFERENCES
01 — DALI-2 Commissioning
Commission compatible DALI-2 drivers by checking bus wiring, discovering devices, assigning addresses, creating groups and scenes, and validating dimming and Tunable White functions where supported.
02 — Lutron HomeWorks QSX + DALI-2
Use the Lutron DALI architecture as the lighting-control layer while the 48V track remains separately powered. Address and configure DALI loads in the Lutron project, then test zones, groups, scenes and keypad functions.
03 — Control4 + KNX-DALI
For the confirmed KNX-DALI integration route, commission the DALI devices, configure KNX parameters and group objects, map lighting control into Control4, then validate scenes, feedback and recovery behaviour.
04 — Casambi / Zigbee Project Routes
Wireless commissioning is configuration-specific. Confirm the selected luminaire or driver version, gateway or adaptor, pairing method, groups, scenes and physical-control requirements before setup.
COMMISSIONING PRINCIPLE
Product-side installation and wiring information does not replace the final control-system project file or authorised commissioning design. The responsible integrator should confirm addressing, programming, network architecture and project-specific control logic.
OTHER LIGHTING SYSTEMS
Installation Resources Beyond Magnetic Track Lighting
Installation Resources is a site-wide technical library, not a magnetic-track-only page. Additional product families are organised here as model-specific installation references, drawings and wiring information are completed.
01
Profiles & Linear Lighting
Installation references for aluminium profiles and linear-lighting assemblies, including surface or recessed mounting, profile cutting, diffuser installation, end caps, fixing clips and strip compatibility.
02
Architectural Downlights & Spotlights
Model-specific resources will cover ceiling cut-out, recessed or trimless installation, driver placement, ceiling preparation and the mounting details required for the selected fixture.
03
LED Strip Installation
Technical references will be organised around strip voltage, cutting and connection, profile or surface mounting, power-supply sizing, cable routing and installation conditions for the selected strip system.
MODEL-SPECIFIC DOCUMENTATION
Use Installation Instructions for the Exact Product Model
Installation details can vary by profile, fixture, driver, voltage and mounting method. If a model-specific guide is not yet published in the library, confirm the exact product model and installation condition before proceeding.
BEFORE INSTALLATION
Confirm the System Before Work Starts
Before cutting track, drilling, wiring or commissioning, confirm that the selected products, mounting conditions, power architecture and control route match the actual project. Installation should start from a verified system configuration, not from assumptions made on site.
01
Confirm Product Version
Check the exact track profile, luminaire model, driver version, power supply, connectors and control configuration. Similar product names or appearance do not guarantee identical installation requirements.
02
Confirm Power Architecture
Verify system voltage, connected load, PSU capacity, feed positions, conductor function and polarity requirements where applicable before wiring or power-up.
03
Confirm Installation Interface
Review track profile, ceiling or wall condition, mounting brackets, connectors, dimensions, cutting requirements and cable-routing space before mechanical installation.
04
Confirm Control & Commissioning
Define the required DALI-2, Casambi, Zigbee or KNX + DALI route, together with the gateway, wall control, grouping, scenes and Tunable White requirements where applicable.
EXISTING OR THIRD-PARTY TRACK?
Check Compatibility Before Installation
If the project uses an existing or third-party magnetic track, confirm the mechanical, electrical, driver and control interfaces before installation. Matching 48V voltage or track width alone is not sufficient.
